Moz Scales in Response to Demand from Enterprises and Agencies

Hires CMO, CFO, and VP Sales & Business Development to drive growth from new markets

SEATTLE, June 1, 2018 — Moz, Inc. (moz.com), the leader in search engine optimization technology, today announced the recent addition of three seasoned executives to their leadership team. Ashish Gupta joins as Chief Financial Officer, Christina Mautz as Chief Marketing Officer, and Santo Criscuolo as VP of Sales & Business Development.

In the first quarter of the year, Moz increased new enterprise business by nearly 40%, adding brands like State Farm, MGM, and Brinker International, a multinational company that owns Chili's and Maggiano's Little Italy restaurant chains, to its portfolio. The additions to the leadership team will build on that momentum, helping Moz capitalize on recent product enhancements, including the launch of Moz Link Explorer, an update to a well-loved tool that customers are hailing as "really impressive" and "mind-boggling."

"We love our small-business, agency, and regional customers. We'll continue to work hard to meet their needs, and we're excited to demonstrate now on a larger scale how Moz is driving growth for large, global enterprises and agencies, too," said CEO Sarah Bird. "With search now omnipresent in our lives through the voice search we use in our homes and cars to mobile and desktop browsers we naturally go to when we’re looking to research our next purchase or find our local shop, marketing leaders at leading companies are coming to us for help. Ashish, Christina, and Santo bring more than 60 years combined experience to our leadership team to help respond to that growing demand, and we've never been more confident in our direction."

CMO Christina Mautz brings growth-focused experience from several Seattle startups as well as tech giants Amazon.com and Yahoo!, where she worked to bring digital advertising, local flash sales opportunities, and HR technology to marketing leaders at some of the world’s largest enterprises.

“For years I’ve leveraged search engine optimization as a strategic lever in my marketing toolkit to drive significant yet efficient growth,” said Mautz. “I’m thrilled now to work with Moz to bring market leading SEO technology to other marketing leaders around the world.”

Ashish Gupta joins as CFO after more than a decade of hands-on leadership experience driving revenue and user growth at venture-funded startups in the Bay Area across martech and edtech, leading various facets of cross-functional business & company operations, driving cash efficiencies, constructing cohorted SaaS unit economics, leading capital raises, and delivering strategic transactions close to 10x revenue.

VP of Sales Santo Criscuolo will accelerate Moz's growth into enterprise sales and agency partnerships after an impeccable record of success at local startups and tech enterprises Adobe and Microsoft. Under his leadership, Criscuolo will help brands, agencies and resellers build new lines of business and grow new revenues. He brings extensive experience in the tech sector, having led sales and business development for Amplero, one of the world's first AI marketing platforms, as well as sales for Adobe's TV Media Management Platform.

“At Moz, we believe there is a better way to do marketing. A more valuable, less invasive way where customers are earned rather than bought. We’re obsessively passionate about it, and our mission is to help people achieve it,” said Bird, “Now we have the team we need to bring this mission to even larger companies around the world.”
