  • You can publish to Facebook, Google, and/or Hotfrog, Navmii, and ShowMeLocal (depending on the type of post you choose to create).
  • Access is dependent on your Moz Local plan, you will need to upgrade to the Preferred or Elite plan to access full publishing functionality. This functionality is location based so you will need to have a Preferred or Elite subscription plan on all locations you wish to publish for.
  • You can publish one offer at a time per location.
  • As of February 20th, 2023 Moz Local has begun pulling metrics via the Google Profile Performance API which no longer provides data on search queries, photo views, and social posts metrics. To learn more about this change and the exciting new metrics coming to Moz Local, please see our What’s New post.
  • While there is no one-to-one solution to access the metrics that will be deprecated, we have outlined a few workarounds in our What’s New post along with more information about the upcoming changes.

Overview of Publish Feature in Moz Local

Reputation management & community engagement are an important part of your local SEO strategy. If you’ve purchased a Preferred or Elite plan for Moz Local, you will have the ability to keep your customers up to date with the Publish feature.

From the Publish section of Moz Local, you can proactively publish information and content to connected platforms. You have the option to publish to Facebook, Google (as long as you are fully synced) as well as Hotfrog, Navmii, and ShowMeLocal (depending on the type of post you choose to create).

If you see the notice ‘Your product or plan has limited access to the posting feature’ you will need to upgrade your location to the Preferred or Elite plan for this location to access full publishing functionality.

How to Locate the Publish Section in Moz Local

Multiple Locations - If you manage multiple locations with Moz Local, you will first have to select the Locations tab from the left navigation menu, then click on the location. If you only have one location, you may skip this step and proceed to the publish tab within your location’s data view.

From within your Moz Local location click on the Publish tab on the top right.

How to Create a New Post

To publish a new article, click on the Create new button, or Create your first post.

  1. Type of post: Select a post type, for example, News, Offers, or Questions & Answers
  2. Post on: Select platforms you’d like to publish your post. The options here will be dependent on the type of post chosen in step 1.
  3. Title & Content: Write a Title and Content for your post. In the Content field, you can also upload an image by clicking on the small camera icon
  4. Preview your post in the panel on the right
  5. Link: Enter the link of the website to which your potential customers should be directed
  6. Publication date & Time range: If you are creating a News post you can select a publication date. If you are creating an Offer you can select a Time range for the period for which the offer is valid.
  7. Click on Save as a template to create a template for future use
  8. Click on the Post button to submit your update to the selected platforms.

Create a Template

Creating templates is a great way to speed up this process for creating future posts.

You can create a template by clicking on Save as Template when creating your post.

Saved templates will be available from the Template library.
